In a new collaboration, GUBI and boutique Parisian textile house GARRO ÉDITIONS unite two 20th-century icons:
Finnish designer Paavo Tynell and British artist Henry Moore.

This special edition pairs the elegant Scandinavian form of Tynell’s 9602 Floor Lamp with the expressive energy of Moore’s black-line drawings.

The Genius of Paavo Tynell

The Genius of Paavo Tynell

Paavo Tynell, born in Helsinki just after the invention of the domestic lightbulb, emerged as a pioneer of modern lighting.
As electricity transformed everyday life, Tynell’s elegant designs gained global recognition. By his death, he was affectionately known as
"the man who illuminated Finland."

Designed in 1935 for the Hotel Aulanko in Helsinki, Tynell’s 9602 Floor Lamp is among his most celebrated works. With its rattan-wrapped stem, polished brass base, and distinctive oversized shade, it reflects his devotion to craftsmanship and natural materials, balancing elegance with a refined playfulness that invites artistic reinterpretation.
