The Akio Whetstone from Mareld is a ceramic wet whetstone made of corundum with a 5 mm thick glass base for increased stability and durability. It is available in several grit sizes (e.g. 10,000 and 15,000 grit) which makes it suitable for both coarse sharpening and polishing of Japanese and European kitchen knives. The glass base ensures that the stone can be used down to the last millimeter without the risk of cracks, making it a stable and precise tool for knife care in the home kitchen and professional use.
