The CHO lamps are the result of an investigation into the forms that emerge when pressure is applied to an oval piece of paper. A sheet with two curved pressings that is gently clamped into a slender metal frame. Like a wing that carries itself springily between two pylons, it unfolds into a poetic shade that invites creative interpretation and changes expression depending on the angle of view. "Cho" means butterfly in Japanese, reflecting the shape that the designers have imagined. The lightness of the lampshade meets the solidity of the steel base, where white meets black in a harmonious contrast.
