The Act Lamp is made from discarded PE water pipes – materials that would normally be incinerated due to their complex composition, which makes them difficult to recycle. The lamp is an example of circular design and innovative resource utilization. Designer Simon Legald, who is constantly exploring creative production methods, saw the potential in these overlooked pipes. By cutting the pipes diagonally into oval rings and carefully assembling them into transparent lampshades, he creates a design that both reduces energy consumption and preserves the integrity of the material. This process not only reduces the environmental impact, but also highlights the natural beauty of recycled materials.
