The Chinese designers Weng Xinyu and Tao Haiyue are Bauhaus graduates and now live and work in Berlin. They have designed the Balancer the floor lamp for the Norwegian designer lighting manufacturer Northern Lighting, which is a symbol of the fusion of geometric shapes, perfect functionality and an elegant and purist style. So that the spherical luminaire head, which radiates both targeted and diffused light, can be tilted and thus change the light height, the cylindrical base is designed as a heavy counterweight, so that the luminaire does not tip over and is always in balance - as the name suggests. Straight lines and here and there round shapes, e.g. at the fixture head and at the connection between the fixed foot and the swivel arm, results in a harmonious mix of clear and not too harsh forms.
