Office and Work Retreat - Ørslev Kloster Arbejdsrefugium

Ørslev Kloster is a retreat offering a tranquil space for work projects, ideal for journalists, writers, musicians, academics, students, artists, and theater professionals. Established around 1200, the monastery's history dates back to the 12th century. After the Reformation, it transitioned to private ownership in 1584. Remodeled into a baroque manor in the 18th century, it fell into disrepair until the National Museum intervened in the 1920s. In 1928, Countess Olga Sponneck discovered and decided to save the dilapidated Ørslev Kloster, marking the start of its current function. Since 1969, Ørslev Kloster has been a renowned work retreat in the Nordic region. Operated by the nonprofit Association Ørslev Kloster, it offers affordable rental spaces for uninterrupted work periods. The monastery underwent an extensive renovation that, with respect for its history, updated and redesigned the space into a tranquil and comfortable retreat. We provided much of the decorative lighting in the common areas and bedrooms. The project has been nominated for a "Renover" award in 2024.
