Vitra Akari 26A Pendant
Just like 2019, 2020 has been a fantastic year for Swiss
Vitra
. Their Japanese series Akari has really broken through this year and many have surrendered to the revived rice paper trend. Specifically the simple and beautiful
26A pendant
.
The series was created by the Japanese-American designer Isamu Noguchi in 1951. The name Akari is translated as "light" - both meaning "lighting" and "something light". The lamps are produced by hand, using traditional techniques in the family-owned Ozeki workshop based in Gifu, Japan.
'The harshness of electricity is thus transformed through the magic of paper back to the light of our origin - the sun - so that its warmth may continue to fill our rooms at night.' - Isamu Noguchi
The lamp is made up of bamboo sticks that are coated with traditional Washi paper made from the bark of mulberry trees. The entire Akari series is marked with a signature of Noguchi as well as a sun and moon symbol in red.
The pendant is available in 3 sizes, of which 26A is the smallest. It should also be mentioned that the
the floor lamp 10A
in the same series, has also gained incredible popularity in 2019.
Lampe Gras N304 (Bathroom) Wall lamp
Again this year, Lampe Gras continued its success with the timeless and functional design of the N304 lamp.
N304
is the classic and small wall lamp from
Lampe Gras
. This is the bathroom version that is IP65 certified and therefore suitable for use in wet rooms. Therefore, this lamp can withstand both water and steam and will not be damaged by many years in the bathroom.
The iconic design dates back to 1921 and was designed by Bernard-Albin Gras in France. The lamps are characterized by the fact that they have neither screws nor welds, which makes the design incredibly aesthetic and clean. The lamp also has high adjustability, which is useful in the bathroom when you're getting ready. You may want to buy 2 of these lamps to hang on each side of the mirror.
N304 Bathroom
has thus won the hearts of our customers when it comes to decorating the bathroom with designer
lamps
.
Tom Rossau TR7 Pendant
One of our most popular lamps in 2020 is the iconic TR7 pendant from Tom Rossau.
Danish Tom Rossau's
beautiful and unique TR series has become a design classic in Denmark, with the beautiful, twisted lamps of wood. The lamp uses 2 bulbs, respectively in the bottom and top of the lamp. The thin and light birch wood causes the lamp to have a warm, glowing light when switched on.
The TR7 lamps work especially well in combination, as below, with a combination of 2 pendants with a
floor lamp
, in order to create a group of lights that are well-suited in corners of your home. Although the lamps look great on their own, this is the ultimate installation, if you love Tom Rossau lamps.
In addition, TR7 won the audience award at the Copenhagen Furniture Fair in 2006 and has since been incredibly sought after throughout Scandinavia.
Artemide Tolomeo Table Lamp
The Tolomeo table lamp
requires no introduction. Those who have followed the lighting industry for many years know this table lamp as one of the greatest icons in office and architectural lamps. Even in 2020, the Tolomeo table lamp is one of our best-selling products - this due to the iconic, classic design and the great functionality.
The lamp originates from the Italian brand
Artemide
and was designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina in 1987. The lamp bears the mark of the classic Italian design philosophies of simplicity, purity and functionality. The lamp has thin arms and a characteristic shade, where the light escapes through a small hole in the top of the shade.
If you want a completely simple and classic look for your desk,
Tolomeo
is probably one of the very best offers you can find.
Furthermore, the lamp is used in the popular Netflix series "Suits", where the law firm associates have it mounted in their office stalls.
Secto Octo 4241 Pendant
Finnish Secto has gained incredible popularity in a very short period of time and they have revolutionized the market of wooden lamps with their innovation and beautiful craftsmanship.
2020 has truly been the year in which Secto has won the hearts of Europeans and the iconic Octo pendant has been impossible to overlook in housing magazines and with lifestyle bloggers.
At the same time, Secto is a brand with good values and high quality assurance, which makes them even more loved and recognized. Secto uses only wood from Finland and all their lamps are made by professional woodworkers in their workshop in Finland.
It is especially the
Octo 4241
, ie the smaller of the two sizes, which is a true customer favorite. This is most likely due to the fact that many people choose to hang two or more pendants in a row, which gives an incredibly beautiful and modern effect. The lamp is available in black, white, walnut or natural birch wood and Secto's other lamps can easily be combined with the popular 4241.
