Despite Verner Panton being part of Danish furniture design's important mid-century, his expression and design philosophy were far from the simple, his Danish and Scandinavian colleagues practiced. His expression was provocative, playful, futuristic but also full of personality. The passion to explore the possibilities of unconventional types of materials and flashy colors was an essential part of the DNA of many of his sculptural works.
