Design: Shiro Kuramata for Yamagiwa

Concept: The K-Series by Yamagiwa is a collection of lamps considered masterpieces of Japanese postmodernism and was designed in 1972 by the Japanese interior designer, Shiro Kuramata. The soft light that flows through the shades creates a calming atmosphere and almost casts a spell over the room. The remarkable thing about these lamps is that each shade is handmade, which means that the natural shapes vary from lamp to lamp, giving each room its own unique character.
